As part of its ongoing commitment to environmental preservation, The Alana Hotel & Conference - Sentul City has launched an innovative program in organic waste management. Through a waste processing system into compost, the hotel has succeeded in creating a sustainable green ecosystem in the property area by replanting fruits and vegetables used for daily operations.

The program begins with the collection of kitchen waste from restaurants and other hotel operations. Leftover food, fruit peels, vegetables, and other organic materials are specially separated and then processed using an environmentally friendly composting method. The compost fertilizer not only reduces the volume of waste that ends up in landfills, but also becomes the main source of nutrients for the hotel's organic garden.

The organic garden products grown, such as tomatoes, chilies, spinach, kale, lemongrass, and several other types of tropical fruits, are not only reused in the hotel's daily menu, but are also introduced to guests as part of a unique and educational stay experience. Guests can join in picking the garden's produce and even learn the composting process directly through the 'Green Journey' tour offered every weekend.
